Cardboard boxes repurposed using my laser

If you saw my last blog, you saw the banner and Valentine art I made with cardboard material. I used Amazon & Dremel boxes. If they are good in structure, its worth recycling to me. It is so light weight, I can probably use a glue gun to apply a paperclip on the back and hang it. Yup, that light weight and simple to work with.

Whenever packages arrive my family is great about checking them out and placing those said boxes outside my studio door.  hmmm, maybe the kids just don't want to break them down. 😂 Who knows, but, I then go through them and keep the ones I think I can work with. I currently have some waiting for me outside my studio. You know my husbands loving that, especially since I told him I'd have them cut up and out of there in a day or two ....  it's been over a week. 😂😂

Anyways back to this project I would like to give a file credit to: Welcome Home Custom. I'm not sure if this particular svg file is in her store right now but I do love her work. I actually have purchased a few of her files. She can be found on Etsy.

I painted the out line with Master's Touch acrylic paint in Gold. It has a metallic look I love. I use this paint a lot. I used it in the blog where I painted the dinosaur figurines. 😉 I used white gesso to paint the back.

I decided to use pink foil paper for the big chuck on the heart section. I put some deco foil transfer gel on with a paint brush, let it sit for just a bit and then applied the foil.

Some of the supplies I used for this project. I used the Mod Podge to some of the triangles with in the heart to add some glitter. I felt it gave it a little something extra. Sorry, I didn't get pictures of anything else. I think I just got too caught up in it. 😳

Finished product in different angles . . .

I have a Christmas tree that I started leaving up since 2020. Something about it makes me happy. Actually, I just acquired another tree, so I now have two I leave up. One is Halloween themed and the other went themed from Christmas to Valentine. I'm thinking about making a St. Patrick's themed next. If you would like for me to a St. Patricks Day themed tree let me know on my instagram page. You can find me @MaddieMarrs2020.

I hope you find something fun to recycle and craft with and please share it with me. I love to see what others do.

Until next time,
Maddie

Halloween Ghost - Tic Tac Toe Game

What a fun classic game - Never gets old. This cute ghost game set can travel with you, or help time pass if you are waiting for an appointment with your special ones. Because come on, who doesn't love to play tic tac toe and silently compete? 😂  Using my Glowforge laser, this cute ghost was cut and engraved on baltic birch wood. Acrylic was used for the games pieces (ghosts/pumpkins).  The ghost is  approximately 5.12 w x 6.5 h.   If you are interested in one, you can find it by clicking on this link:   https://square.link/u/c8P7PpVi  -or- by clicking on the SHOP tab listed above.  Until next time, Maddie

Revisiting an older DIY post.

UPDATE: To an older DIY and post.   I had added some paper to the inside of this cute metal envelope holder. You can find that post here:  https://maddiemarrs.blogspot.com/2020/08/a-quick-and-simple-diy.html . Although it came out cute, something was off Something about the bronze was just not hitting me the way the way I wanted it to, so, I decided to paint it white - and now, I love it! You can see that in this photo I had already done a light sanding. I used white gesso for this project.  Lots and lots of gesso.  ðŸ˜… Oh my gosh, since it's metal, I can add magnets! How fun! I am going to leave it as is, but it would look great distressed. For now this will be on our mantel as part of our Valentine display. Afterwards, it will probably be hung in my studio and hold some yarn. I do love this, it screams happy. Until next time, Maddie

My Garage My Tools My Rules Sign Decor using my Glowforge Laser

This wood sign was made using my Glowforge laser, and is hand painted by me. This would make a great Father's Day gift.  However, as I sit here typing this,  I just thought of how fun this would be in pink, maybe some gold, maybe some glitter? I don't know, it sounds like it would be adorable. I  may have to put that on the list of projects I'd like to get done.  The sign is approximately 15 x 10.8 and sealed with a matte finish.  If you are interested in this piece, please click on the SHOP tab above or click on this link:  Garage Tool Rules Sign Thank you for stopping by and have a happy crafty day, Maddie
