St. Patrick's themed tree using/recycling cardboard boxes . . .

Hey guys! A few weeks back I made some St. Patrick's Day items to hang on that Christmas tree I leave up all year around. 😀  Here's what I did . . .  Cardboard boxes were broken down and cut down to size. Here are some of the items I cut on the laser. Some for this project, some for others that I'm currently working on. I added a second coat on some of the shamrocks and then placed them on and near the Christmas tree. I messed up by cutting the shamrock instead of scoring it on the shiplap round. It's okay though because I placed some duck tape to the back to help keep everything together - it worked. 😊 I love the way it turned out. It looks weathered and it doesn't look like cardboard. I'm telling you, working with this stuff is great!  I ended up using this piece as the tree topper. It was the only four leaf clover on the tree - our lucky charm.  I sorted through some Christmas ornaments and pulled a few green ones to add to my "Year 'Round Tree&quo

Going Gold . . .

These little butterflies got a make over. My mom had mailed us decorated gifts for Christmas. These butterflies were on some of the gifts. My daughters and I thought it would be nice if we could hang on to these because they were so cute.  One of them had lost an antenna and was needing a new one. Going through my stash I found some 26 gauge gold jewelry wire.  I used a needle to poke at the antenna and slowly work it out without causing damage. Much easier to do than expected. I cut a piece of wire down to size using an old antenna for reference; used Goop to glue down the antennas and magnets to the butterflies; let them sit out to cure for a day or two and that was it.  The only problem with all this was that my girls and I thought the gold complimented the colors so beautifully that we ended up giving them all new antennas! 😂😂 Here they are . . . . This was such a simple and fun way to repurpose these butterflies. My parents do not live close to us, so we will be think of them ev
